Trauma Response Innovative Practices (TRIP) LLC provides support, training, and guidance to communities, organizations, and networks experiencing heightened stress, trauma, loss, and violence. These resiliency-focused public health approaches include Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Post-Traumatic Stress Management (PTSM), as well as innovative strategies for the development of local, community-driven Trauma Response Networks (TRNs). Trauma Response Networks are always collaborations between communities and the systems, organizations, and services designed to serve them.
TRIP LLC is itself a collaboration between Yolanda Hughes and Kamela Johnson, who met in 2017 and began working together to build one of the country’s first free, citywide Trauma Response Networks in Philadelphia. Under the guidance of Dr. Robert Macy and the International Trauma Center in Boston, the pair adopted PFA and PTSM for use on an ongoing, programmatic basis–serving Philadelphia’s neighborhoods, schools, organizations, and communities.
